Tom has been Secretary of Kirkintilloch Golf Club since November 2006 following a 25 year career in the electronics industry. He was one of the “trailblazers” at the first Management Development Programme course in 2011 and has since completed MDP Level 2, MDP Golf and MDP Strategy & Leadership modules, receiving his Club Management Diploma along the way. Tom served on both the GCMA and CMAE Scottish Region committees before taking up the post of Chairman of SGCMA.
Bernhard has over 30 years’ experience in golf club administration and management, including 10 years as Club Manager at Baberton Golf Club during which the club completed a major course development and prepared for the construction of a new clubhouse, which was completed a few years after He left. An active member of the GCMA Scottish Region for the past 17 years, Bernhard took over the role as Regional Manager in 2015.
Stephen has 19 years’ experience as a Secretary/Manager of a private members golf club. Starting out at Pyle and Kenfig Golf Club back in 1998, before moving to John O’Gaunt Golf Club in 2002 and then to Gullane Golf Club in 2008. Stephen is now Secretary of Royal Troon Golf Club. Before moving into golf club administration Stephen worked in accountancy and business.
DAVID GEMMELL CCM
David has over 20 years experience in the golf industry, qualifying as a PGA Professional in 1998. He started his career at Turnhouse Golf Club as an Assistant Professional then took up his first Head Professional’s Role at Canmore Golf Club in 2001 before moving to his current club, Aberdour Golf Club in 2002. David has a passion for education and has completed all five of the MDP courses and recently achieved Certified Club Manager (CCM) status. The education pathway has led to David working as a Consultant Business Relationship Officer for the PGA and serving on the PGA Scottish Region Board and the CMAE Scotland Region Board before joining the SGCMA board.

Keith has worked in the golf industry for 10 years, firstly with Ben Sayers and ProQuip then moved in club management at Haddington Golf Club. Keith is currently the Club Manager of Baberton Golf Club and has undertaken the CMAE’s Club Management Diploma and is a past captain of the Scottish Region of GCMA.
MARY LOU WATKINS
Mary Lou has played golf since the age of 5, and over the years has been Ladies Secretary of Gifford Golf Club, East Lothian Ladies County Captain, and a Board Member of the Scottish Ladies Golf Association. Mary Lou is now the Assistant Secretary at The North Berwick Golf Club. Education has always been an essential part in Mary Lou’s employment and she has now completed five out of the six MDP courses and holds a diploma in Club Management.
Debbie joined Deeside Golf Club in September 2004. Previously she had worked at Craibstone Golf Centre and this coupled with many years’ experience in the catering industry were invaluable in recruiting, training and developing a new team at Deeside. Debbie is currently working towards the her CCM (Certified Club Manager) qualification. Debbie was awarded the Club Manager of the Year in 2014 by the GCMA.
RICHARD J MCLUCKIE
Richard has 26 years experience working in the golf industry. He has worked his way through from an apprentice greenkeeper to course manager and onto golf club general manager. Through this process he has also gained a vast and broad knowledge of golf club management having managed 4 well renowned Scottish golf clubs.
